About — Con McHugh

Con McHugh is an illustrator and animator creating idea-led looping animations and visual systems.

His work centres on clarity; taking a single, strong idea and expressing it with precision and restraint. He began by making animated posters for Bristol Jazz Festival, which built early recognition and led to a full-time freelance career. Since then, he’s worked with clients including Apple, LEGO, TED, Google and On.

Before this, he spent over a decade in design studios across London and Bristol, working up to Art Director. A background that still shapes how he approaches ideas, structure and brand.

Using minimal line, rhythm and repetition, he creates animations that feel immediate, human, and quietly distinctive, with a focus on systems over surface. He’s now expanding into spatial and projection-based work.
